How would you now categorise a seed, as living or non¬living?  अब बीजों को सजीव या निर्जीव किस श्रेणी में रखेंगे? Answer: Seed is a living thing. Seeds can grow into a plant under the right conditions. बीज एक सजीव वस्तु है। बीज उचित परिस्थितियों में एक पौधे के रूप में विकसित हो सकता है।

How can the life cycle of a mosquito be disrupted? मच्छरों के जीवन चक्र को किस प्रकार भंग किया जा सकता है? Answer

The life cycle of a mosquito can be disrupted by preventing the breeding of mosquitoes. This can be done by:
(i) Not allowing water to stagnate in coolers, pots, tanks, and open containers.
(ii) 
Regularly cleaning water storage containers.
(iii) 
Keeping surroundings clean and dry.
(iv) 
Using mosquito nets and insect repellents.

मच्छरों के जीवन चक्र को उनके प्रजनन को रोककर भंग किया जा सकता है। इसके लिए:
(i) कूलर, गमलों, टंकियों और खुले बर्तनों में पानी जमा न होने दें।
(ii) 
पानी रखने वाले बर्तनों को नियमित रूप से साफ करें।
(iii) 
आसपास का वातावरण साफ और सूखा रखें।
(iv) 
मच्छरदानी और कीट विकर्षक का उपयोग करें।

Question 1:
List the similarities and differences in the life cycles of plants and animals. पौधों और जंतुओं के जीवन-चक्र में समानताओं और भिन्नताओं को सूचीबद्ध कीजिए। Answer

Similarities:

  1. Both plants and animals begin life from a seed or an egg.

  2. Both grow and develop into adults.

  3. Both reproduce to produce new individuals of their kind.

  4. Both have a definite life span.

Differences:

  1. Plants grow from seeds, while animals hatch from eggs or are born alive.

  2. Plants remain fixed in one place, whereas animals can move from place to place.

  3. Plants make their own food by photosynthesis, while animals depend on plants or other animals for food.

  4. Growth in plants continues throughout life, but in animals growth stops after a certain stage.

समानताएँ:

  1. पौधे और जंतु दोनों बीज या अंडे से जीवन की शुरुआत करते हैं।

  2. दोनों बढ़ते हैं और वयस्क (व्यस्क) बनते हैं।

  3. दोनों अपने जैसे नए जीवों को जन्म देते हैं।

  4. दोनों का एक निश्चित जीवनकाल होता है।

भिन्नताएँ:

  1. पौधे बीज से उगते हैं, जबकि जंतु अंडे से निकलते हैं या सीधे जन्म लेते हैं।

  2. पौधे एक स्थान पर स्थिर रहते हैं, जबकि जंतु एक स्थान से दूसरे स्थान पर जा सकते हैं।

  3. पौधे प्रकाश संश्लेषण द्वारा अपना भोजन स्वयं बनाते हैं, जबकि जंतु भोजन के लिए पौधों या अन्य जंतुओं पर निर्भर रहते हैं।

  4. पौधों की वृद्धि जीवन भर चलती रहती है, जबकि जंतुओं की वृद्धि एक निश्चित अवस्था के बाद रुक जाती है।
