What is meant by ‘unity in diversity’ in the Indian scenario? 
भारतीय परिदृश्य में ‘विविधता में एकता’ का क्या अर्थ है?
Answer
“Unity in diversity” means that India is a single nation where many different cultures, languages, religions, and traditions live together peacefully and harmoniously. Despite the vast differences, Indians share a strong sense of unity and national identity.
‘विविधता में एकता’ का अर्थ है कि भारत एक ऐसा राष्ट्र है जहाँ अनेक भिन्न-भिन्न संस्कृतियाँ, भाषाएँ, धर्म और परंपराएँ शांतिपूर्वक एवं सौहार्दपूर्ण ढंग से साथ-साथ रहती हैं। व्यापक भिन्नताओं के बावजूद भारतीयों में एकता और राष्ट्रीय पहचान की प्रबल भावना विद्यमान है।

What aspects of India’s diversity are the most striking? 
भारत की विविधता के कौन-से पहलू सबसे अधिक उल्लेखनीय हैं?
Answer
India’s diversity is most striking in its languages, religions, festivals, and cultural practices. There are hundreds of spoken languages, multiple religions including Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, Sikhism, and Buddhism, and a variety of traditional customs, food, and clothing styles, all coexisting in different parts of the country.

भारत की विविधता उसके भाषा-वैविध्य, धर्मों, त्योहारों और सांस्कृतिक परंपराओं में सबसे अधिक दिखाई देती है। यहाँ सैकड़ों भाषाएँ बोली जाती हैं, हिंदू, मुस्लिम, ईसाई, सिख और बौद्ध जैसे अनेक धर्मों के अनुयायी रहते हैं तथा देश के विभिन्न भागों में अलग-अलग रीति-रिवाज, खान-पान और वस्त्र शैलियाँ प्रचलित हैं।

हम विविधता में निहित एकता को कैसे समझ सकते हैं?

Answer
The unity underlying diversity is achieved through shared values, similar traditions, a common constitutional framework, national symbols, cultural heritage, and interconnected histories.
विविधता में निहित एकता साझा मूल्यों, समान परंपराओं, एक समान संवैधानिक व्यवस्था, राष्ट्रीय प्रतीकों, सांस्कृतिक विरासत और आपस में जुड़ी हुई ऐतिहासिक परंपराओं के माध्यम से स्पष्ट होती है।
