Answer

(a) Amplitude – आयाम

The maximum height of a wave from its rest position is called amplitude.
तरंग की विश्राम स्थिति से अधिकतम ऊँचाई को आयाम कहते हैं।

(b) Eardrum – कर्ण-पटह (कर्ण-पर्दा)

A thin, stretched membrane inside the ear that vibrates when sound waves strike it.
कान के अंदर स्थित एक पतला, खिंचा हुआ पर्दा जो ध्वनि तरंगों के लगने पर कंपन करता है।

(c) Frequency – आवृत्ति

The number of vibrations made per second is called frequency.
प्रति सेकंड होने वाले कंपन की संख्या को आवृत्ति कहते हैं।

(d) Hertz (Hz) – हर्ट्ज़

Hertz is the unit of frequency. One hertz means one vibration per second.

हर्ट्ज़ आवृत्ति की इकाई है। एक हर्ट्ज़ का अर्थ है प्रति सेकंड एक कंपन।

(e) Larynx – कंठ

A voice-producing part in the throat that contains the vocal cords.
गले में स्थित ध्वनि उत्पन्न करने वाला भाग जिसमें स्वर-तंत्री (vocal cords) होती हैं।

(f) Loudness – प्रबलता

Loudness tells how strong or soft a sound is.
प्रबलता बताती है कि ध्वनि कितनी तेज या धीमी है।

(g) Noise – शोर

Unpleasant or unwanted sound is called noise.
अप्रिय या अवांछित ध्वनि को शोर कहते हैं।

(h) Oscillation – दोलन

One complete to-and-fro motion of a vibrating object is called an oscillation.
किसी वस्तु की एक पूर्ण आगे-पीछे की गति को दोलन कहते हैं।

(i) Pitch – तारत्व

Pitch tells whether a sound is high-pitched (shrill) or low-pitched (deep).
तारत्व बताता है कि ध्वनि तीखी (ऊँची) है या भारी (नीची)।

(j) Time Period – आवर्तकाल

Time taken to complete one oscillation is called time period.
एक दोलन पूरा करने में लगने वाले समय को आवर्तकाल कहते हैं।

(k) Vibration – कंपन

The rapid to-and-fro or up-and-down motion of an object is called vibration.
किसी वस्तु की तेज आगे-पीछे या ऊपर-नीचे होने वाली गति को कंपन कहते हैं।

(l) Voice Box – वाक्यंत्र / स्वरयंत्र

Another name for the larynx; it produces sound in the throat.
कंठ का ही दूसरा नाम, जहाँ से ध्वनि उत्पन्न होती है।

(m) Windpipe – श्वास नली

The pipe in the throat through which air passes to the lungs.
गले में स्थित वह नली जिससे हवा फेफड़ों तक पहुँचती है।
