Q1. Mention any two measures for the conservation of water. [G. Ch-2]

जल संरक्षण हेतू कोई दो उपाय बताइए।

Answer

The suggestions for conserving waters are as follows:

i.   Rain water harvesting.

ii.  Replenishing ground water by promoting afforestation.

iii. Reducing the wastage of water, making more aware the people.

जल संरक्षण के लिए सुझाव इस परकर है:

(i) वर्षा जल संचयन। 

(ii) वनीकरण को बढ़ावा देकर भूजल की पूर्ति करना। 

(iii) पानी की बर्बादी को कम करना, लोगों को अधिक जागरूक करना।

वन संरक्षण हेतू कोई दो उपाय बताइए।

Answer

Measures need to be taken to conserve forests:

i Reforestation of the deforested areas as soon as possible.

ii Ban on the indiscriminate cutting of trees.

iii Felling of trees for fuel and wood should be avoided.

iv Overgrazing in forests should be discouraged.

वनों के संरक्षण के लिए निम्नलिखित उपाय किए जाने चाहिए

i वनों की कटाई वाले क्षेत्रों में पुनः वनरोपण किया जाना चाहिए।

1.    ii वृक्षों की अंधाधुंध कटाई पर प्रतिबंध लगाया जाना चाहिए।

2.    iii ईंधन और लकड़ी के लिए वृक्षों की कटाई से बचना चाहिए।

3.    iv वनों में अत्यधिक चराई को हतोत्साहित किया जाना चाहिए।

3. Explain the geographical conditions necessary for the cultivation of Cotton. [G. Ch-3]

कपास उत्पादन के लिए आवश्यक भौगोलिक परिस्थितियों का वर्णन कीजिए।

Answer

(1) Cotton requires high temperature, light rainfall, two hundred and ten frost-free days and bright sunshine for its growth. 

(2) It grows best on black and alluvial soils. 

(3)China, USA, India, Pakistan, Brazil and Egypt are the leading producers of cotton. 

(4) It is one of the main raw materials for the cotton textile industry.

(1) इसकी वृद्धि के लिए उच्च तापमान, हल्की वर्षा, दो सौ से दो सौ दस पालरहित दिन और तेज चमकीली धुप की आवश्यकता होती है। 

(2) यह काली और जलोढ़ मृदा में सर्वोत्तम उगती है। 

(3) चीन, संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका, भारत, पाकिस्तान, ब्राजील, और मिस्र कपास के अग्रणी उत्पादक हैं। 

(4) यह सूती वस्त्र उद्योग के लिए महत्त्वपूर्ण कच्चा माल है।    

4. Explain the geographical conditions necessary for the cultivation of Maize. [G. Ch-3]

मक्का उत्पादन के लिए आवश्यक भौगोलिक परिस्थितियों का वर्णन कीजिए।

Answer 

(1) Maize requires moderate temperature, rainfall and lots of sunshine. 

(2) It needs well-drained fertile soils. 

(3) Maize is grown in North America, Brazil, China, Russia, Canada, India, and Mexico.
